GUYS AND DOLLS
Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, GUYS AND DOLLS is set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. The show takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.
SEUSSICAL
Join your favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Getrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and Jojo—a little boy with a big imagination—as they transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant in this musical for all ages.
THE 25th ANNUAL PUTMAN COUNTY SPELLING BEE
Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor.
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.
A riotous ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful den of comedic genius.
THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES
A small group of women will take us on a whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone. They introduce a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it." “... breaks taboos by talking, talking and talking some more—stripping fear and shame from what she celebrates.”
