Starting in 2012, Clear Space will offer a weekday matinee performance of each of its regular season productions. Student groups have enjoyed these matinees for several seasons, and they are now open to individuals or groups for whom an evening at the theatre is not a possibility. Create the perfect mid-week treat for yourself - live theatre, lunch, a stroll on the boardwalk, and unique shopping opportunities - right here in downtown Rehoboth Beach! (Check event listings for matinee dates & times.)
In an effort to reach underserved audiences, Clear Space Theatre Company will introduce a “Pay What You Can” Night. The 2nd Friday night performance during each run of shows produced by Clear Space will be open to the public to pay what they can to see the show.
Many theatres across the country participate in this kind of initiative, and Clear Space is thrilled to have the opportunity to reach out to those members of the community who may not typically be able to attend live theatre. Whether it’s students who earn a small allowance, large families for whom a show may be too expensive, or those on limited or fixed income, “Pay What You Can” Night is designed to remove one of the barriers associated with attending live theatre and make the arts available to all.
“Pay What You Can” Night tickets are cash only, in person at the box office on the evening of the performance. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis and subject to availability. Regular tickets (priced $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $15 for students and $5 for children 12 and under) may still be purchased in advance online at www.ClearSpaceTheatre.org or via phone at 302.227.2270.
The Clear Space Theatre Company is experiencing great anticipation and excitement, and rightfully so. The group will present its 2010-2011 season in their brand-new home at 20 Baltimore Avenue (Beach Block), Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. After five years of showcasing their talents in various local venues, the company will take up residence at the Celebration Mall location this fall. “This opportunity has presented itself at the perfect time and we could not be more thrilled!” says Executive Director Ken Skrzesz. “Our new home matches seamlessly with our vision and will move our company to the next level of professionalism.” The theatre has seating for up to 300 people and can be configured in many ways, which leaves endless opportunity for creative staging.
