Broadway Bound Spring Concert Performance: Tuesday, March 26, 2013
This year, we have divided our hallmark Arts Institute program, Broadway Bound, into two sessions to focus on the individual needs of our students. Broadway Bound I is used to enrich the lives of elementary school students through the performing arts. Led by industry professionals, students rotate through classes in acting, dance, and singing, as well as group rehearsals. The classes, using the performing arts to enhance self-awareness and creativity, culminate in an end-of-semester performance on November 13.

Broadway Bound Spring Concert Performance: Tuesday, March 26, 2013
A continuation of our long-running program, Broadway Bound II is designed for those students in middle school who are prepared for a more rigorous study of musical theatre. Using the same traditional format as Broadway Bound, middle school students will work through more challenging songs, dances, and performing arts skills with our faculty of industry professionals. The semester culminates in a final performance on November 17.

Children's Acting Technique Performance: Tuesday, March 26,2013
Tuition: $125
This class is designed for students who wish to focus more specifically on dramatic studies. Our faculty will guide students through technique in improvisation, physicality, voice, and working as an ensemble. Children’s Acting can be used as a companion class for those enrolled in Broadway Bound I, or as an option those students who do not wish to sing and dance. The semester culminates in a final group performance on November 13.

Tuition: $200
Designed for high school students who are interested in a future in the performing arts, this class offers an in-depth study of acting technique. Through monologue and scene work, as well as improvisations and acting exercises, students will acquire the skills necessary for a solid foundation in acting while adding contemporary, age-appropriate material to their repertoire. The semester finishes with a public performance on the final evening of class.

Wednesdays, January 12 - March 27, 2013, 4:30-6 pm
Tuition: $200
This class is designed for students who wish to focus more specifically on dance technique. Our faculty will guide students
through technique in jazz, ballet, and tap, and demonstrate how proficiency in these skills will work hand-in-hand in the
world of musical theatre. Gotta Dance! can be used as a companion class for those enrolled in Broadway Bound I and II, or
as an option those students who do not wish to sing and act. The semester culminates in a demonstration of all areas for
friends and family during the final class.

offers a multi-discipline approach to training. Students, grouped by age and ability level in grades 1-8, rotate through 30-minute classes in Voice, Dance and Acting, within a 2-hour class meeting one day per week.
- focuses upon posture, proper breathing, matching pitch and healthy sound production.
- students learn proper alignment, body awareness, spatial attentiveness and locomotor patterns.
- introduces the fundamental principles of the craft imagination, concentration, physicality and communication through guided improvisational exercises.
- prepares students for public performances, developing a repertoire of solo, small group and whole group musical numbers from the Broadway repertoire.
The classes, using the performing arts to enhance self-awareness and creativity, culminate in an end-of-semester performance. Participating students may be invited to perform with BROADWAY BOUND ON TOUR as part of the Clear Space Outreach program. The Broadway Bound program has been operating at capacity since its inception, therefore, early registration is suggested.
Policies
- Students are required to wear clothing that is light-weight and in which they can move easily. Jeans and tight tops are discouraged.
- Students must wear a jazz oxford, which may be purchased for $19.99 at www.dancedistributors.com. Click on SHOES, then JAZZ and on page 2 you will find the SPLIT SOLE JAZZ SHOE made by Dance Distributors.
- Long hair must be secured away from the face in a pony tail or braid. No hats are permitted.
- Please send some kind of snack and water with your child.
- Broadway Bound students receive a folder that contains their music for the semester. The folder must be brought to class every week.
- Inclement Weather Policy: In case of inclement weather, please call 302.227.2270 for updates.
- Holidays and Closings: The semester calendar allows for holidays and conflicting events at Clear Space. Please refer to your registration acceptance letter for class meeting dates.
- Scholarships: Scholarships and senior discounts are offered to students in need (please see Scholarship Application link at right).
- Refund schedule:
Before First Class-75% (Unless class is at capacity); After First Class-50%; After Second Class-No Refund.
- All course content is aligned with the National Standards of Arts in Education and the Delaware State Arts Curriculum.
